Take Stock In Children

Take Stock in Children

Take Stock in Children provides low-income children with college and vocational tuition scholarships, volunteer mentors, student advocates / case managers, college readiness, early intervention and long-term support.

The Education Foundation has provided more than 325 college scholarships since the program was implemented in 1995 and currently has 116 students in the program.  Using local donations and matched funds from the State of Florida, the Education Foundation purchases Florida Pre-Paid Tuition plans for each student participating in Take Stock in Children~Osceola County.  The more donations the program receives, the more students it can help.  Every dollar that is donated is matched by the State of Florida.

Students in the 6th - 8th grades are accepted into the program through an application process annually.

Invest in a Child

Become a Mentor

Mentors are the key components to the success of this program.  A mentor is a caring, compassionate adult who chooses to devote their time to a young person, offering them support, guidance and encouragement.  If you can donate one hour per week, you can change a life by helping a child build a solid foundation of values, establish goals, improve their academic and life skills, all while developing their self-esteem and confidence.  If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill out the Mentor Application below, and email it to Cindi Junkins at  junkinsc@osceola.k12.fl.us, or mail it to the Foundation office at:

Education Foundation of Osceola County, 2310 New Beginnings Road, Kissimmee, FL  34744
