The Gaylord Palms Education Awards, honoring the Teacher of the Year AND the School Related Employee of the Year will be held on March 16, 2012 at the beautiful Gaylord Palms Resort. Doors open at 6:00 pm, Dinner begins at 6:30 pm.

Bookmark Buddies Program receives $20,000 Grant from the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation

- Jamie Domres and Kathy Carr accept the $20,000 Grant on behalf of the Education Foundation ~ Osceola.
The Orlando Magic Youth Foundation, a fund of the McCormick Foundation, has generously awarded a grant to the Education Foundation~Osceola County in the amount of $20,000. This grant will be used to fund the Bookmark Buddies Literacy Program. For more information, click here to read the press release.

Facts
The purpose of the Education Foundation Osceola County is to assist The School District in continuing its tradition of excellence in educating students in Osceola County. Since 1985, the Foundation has:
- Matched and trained over 600 mentors currently working with children in Osceola County Schools.
- Awarded over $2,500,000 to graduating Osceola County high school students for college scholarships.
- Provided over $933,000 in Grants for Great Ideas and enhancement programs for the schools.
- Contributed over $350,000 to the Florida Pre-Paid College Program to provide two-year and four-year scholarships for 6th grade students in the Take Stock in Children Program.
- Connected Students with over $1,000,000 in available scholarships through our scholarship counseling program.
- Distributed more than $8 million dollars in school supplies to help more than 50% of the underprivileged students in Osceola County
- Reached $3.5 million in our endowment fund for college scholarships.
